It was pre-dawn in the forbidden city with a lone worker crossing the courtyard. In a city of 30 Million, Zǐjìnchéng still reminds us of the power of the emperors.

Description
Cyanotype is the most ancient of all photographic processes. Invented by John Herschel in 1854, the subtle gradations of blue are represented in watercolor paper. The prints invite you in with a deep and tactile surface.
Each print is hand coated, exposed and developed individually. Every print is unique. Cyanotypes are printed on Canson Watercolor Paper – thick and luxurious to the touch. Prints are slightly smaller than the paper they are printed on for handling.
For more on the Cyanotype process, see our in depth walk through.
The process is detailed here.
